Do your own estimate. We offer a 3 year warranty
on our asphalt sealcoats. Typically when we sealcoat, we repair cracks with a
modified acrylic crack filler or trowel grade acrylic zero aggregate skim coat
at $.50/$1.00 per lineal foot. Cracks larger than 3/8 inch are $1/lin.ft. smaller is
$.50/lin.ft. and trowel grade skim coats are $5.00/sq.ft.
As an example a 5ftx5ft area sunk 1/2 inch would be 25sq.ft.
$5x25sq.ft.=$125 which we would normally charge an additional $50-$75 depending upon
conditions based upon the listed scenario we take each and every driveway on a
case by case basis. We still, as always, offer free estimates.
Colored or Patterned Asphalt
H & C offers the only tested asphalt infinitely colored stains in the industry. They are available in any matchable color. You can expect your asphalt stain to last significantly longer than seal coating and offering that "extra curb appeal" to the exterior of you home or business. Initial costs are typically less than twice that of seal coating and reapplication in several years is in the cost range of seal coating. We can use multiple colors and patterns to give your asphalt a very unique and distinctive look such as design elements in accent colors or running bonds in accent colors. Let your plain asphalt driveway increase your property.
FAQ'S
We have a lot of cracks in
our driveway?
We usually use a trowel grade asphalt
to seal cracks, some small "new" cracks only require modified acrylic fillers.
Often times substrate erosion is present when cracks have been unattended to for
an extended period of time. Therefore we must regrade the asphalt surface. See
the next FAQ. We typically want a minimum of 2-3 days to elapse before a top
coat is applied to trowel grade or crack filler depending on conditions.
We have a few big potholes
in our parking area?
Potholes indicate a settle in asphalt
substrate. On any grade difference less than 1", we use trowel grade
asphalt to fill and multicoat as necessary as we want to only raise ˝" or
less with each application. On grade differences greater than 1", we
use cold mix on a preheated substrate, then finish with trowel grade and let
cure for 30 days.
Will the stain repel water?
The stain will not only repel water,
but repel oil, gasoline, salts, pool chemicals and other common asphalt degradation
contaminants as well.
Why don't I want just
another seal coat?
The main cause of surface failure to
asphalt is heat, dark colors absorb heat better than light colors. Asphalt is
oil based, meaning oil is an asphalt solvent, solvents soften bases, stains are
impervious to oils. Oil based on stain applied driveways can be wiped or washed
away.
I have new asphalt, how
long until we can have it stained?
We like to wait 90 days on new
asphalt lays. The oil properties have to decrease before we can get the
penetration we need for long term protection.
I have a 7500 sq. ft.
parking lot, can I afford the staining?
Pricing is based upon smaller residential and commercial asphalt
drives. We do/can purchase in bulk making large projects less costly/sq.ft.
sometimes as much as 20%. We also high traffic recoats at the time of original
purchase.
We need to have low/no
VOC's?
The products are VOC compliant in all
50 states, it has an emission of only 180g/l therefore it is our first choice
for odor free applications such as indoor commercial pool decks, and residential
basements as well.
Can you do our parking lot
handicap stalls in an ADA compliant handicap blue?
We have several handicap blue asphalt
stains/sealers available to us, we use an ADA compliant handicap parking
stencil. If you need to be compliant with the ADA specified COF, coefficient of
friction, we apply a handicap blue AS-75, an American
Safety Technologies Inc. product.
Can you achieve a .3
refractive surface?
A .3 refractive @ 60° surface
requires a top coat sealer. The base coat is flat, < .05 refraction @ 60°
scale. We use a multitude of top coat sealers to achieve whatever
refraction level is required. 60° scale is most widely used.
